High prices for domestic goods

Albanian small businesses are facing more and more difficulties due to
the fact that costs for finishing a product are increasing every
trimester.

INSTAT notified yesterday that in the first trimester of 2011, the index of production goods prices reached 111.8%, with a 1.0 increase compared to last trimester of 2010.

The annual change of production price index is +3.1%, with increasing tendencies compared to 2010. The production industry reached an increase of 3.2%.

INSTAT mentioned a price increase in “extraction of energetic products” with 3.6% and in “extraction of non energetic products” with 1.5%.

The index for production prices in the category “manufacturing industry” was increased by 1.3%.

Other price increases to be mentioned are those of products in the activities “food industry” with 2.5%, “textile and clothing industry” with 0.6%, “manufacturing of furniture and other services” with 5.3%.

The price index for domestic products reached 110.2%, with a 0.7 increase compared to the fourth trimester of 2010.

This features price increases in “extraction industry” with 3.5%. The index of export prices (year 2005 =100) reached 117.9%, with an increase of 2.1 % compared to the previous trimester, especially in “extraction industry” which had an increase of 2.3% and the “processing industry” increased with 2.5%.
