Institution specialists have diagnosticated the first case in Kukes for
this year, while this disease is considered very dangerous, since it has
a high mortality rate.
“Hemorrhagic fever is a very dangerous disease that can be transmitted through fleas and from man to man, when someone takes care of the patient. This is a disease with a high mortality rate, concentrated in some areas of our country, because it is also related to the natural environment”, declared Silva Bino, head of the infective department.
The most affected areas are Kukes, Has, Tropoje, Kolonje and some Berat villages. The people who are affected by the hemorrhagic fever have light signs in the beginning that should not be neglected in this areas, because the disease would advance to a hemorrhage of internal organs.
“The disease starts with sharp pain of the muscles and on the back, and high fever. It is considered epidemic in some areas and these temperatures should be taken in consideration. Then it creates a membrane on the eye, the skin becomes pale”, Bino declared.
Although it is the first case in our country, the patient is out of life threatening danger because he was diagnosed on time. 17 other cases have been identified in Kosovo, with 17 people who have been affecting, and five of them died.
