The Albanian Health Minister, Ilir Beqaj, explained on Top Channel’s
newsroom how the new health care scheme will cover 600.000 uninsured
persons.
“The 600.000 uninsured persons may address the family’s doctor, follow the referring system links and be equipped with a health card. From the family doctor they may go to the specialist doctor, where they will receive respective recommendations and a reimbursable receipt, with which they will go to a pharmacy”, Beqaj said.
As for the figures published by INSTAT, the Albanian Institution of Statistics, which suggests that citizens still pay a high percentage from their income for health care, Minister Beqaj said that the measures taken so far are giving its fruits,.
“Families have spent less for healthcare in 2015 than in 2014. The difference is minus 25%. This was due to many free services that have been offered, and lower priced medicaments”, Beqaj said.
