The high number of Kosovo holiday makers coming from the Morina checkpoint has created a dense traffic.
Thousands of vehicles cross this road each day, making the Kukes police increase the safety measures and its presence on the highway.
Drivers say that the presence of the police in the highway prevents accidents, and that another problem for them is the fact that residents enter the highway in inappropriate places, including cattle.
The Kukes Police has increased the number of patrols in the entire length of the highway, from Morina to Kalimash, with moving and static patrols. The presence of the police and joint patrolling with their colleagues from Kosovo has made possible a lower number of accidents this year and no criminal incidents.
