Patients with cardiac problems will not have to stay in long queues for
tests, since the Fund of Health Care Inisurance will cover their
expenses in public and private hospitals with the same cost.

“After calculating the cost for the tests and medicaments used during the procedures, and even for the maintenance of the equipment, based on the protocols of clinics, we are turning into reality the approach of our government and our institution to fund the health care so that it can be ussed with efficiency for the patients’ needs. Our interest is to improve the citizens’ health care service and extend our financing to the private sector for the first time”, declared Astrit Beci, Director of the Fund of Health Care Insurance.

The Chief of Cardiology, Artan Goda, declared that the annual needs for coronary tests mount up to 12.000 cases, 4000 of which have been covered so far. 6000 cases are expected to be covered in the next year, but Goda has some requests.

“Extending the operation room usage from 12 hours to 24 hours, with a ER service for acute heart attacks, and creating a new room in the Pulmonary Diseases hospital will enable us to realize more operations”, Goda declared.

The Health Minister, Ilir Beqja, guaranteed that investment will begin starting from this year.

“There will be no more poor medical materials. We will repair the reanimation room at the Shefqet Ndroqi Hospital. We will place an anglograph in Shkoder, so that we can offer this service not only in the capital”, Beqja declared.

The full package will pass for approval at the Council of Ministers and the service will the be offered with detailed agreements. The Insuarnce Fund will monitor the quality of these packages for the public and private hospitals, in order to have an efficient usage of financial sources.
