Albania’s most distinct doctors ask citizens to improve their way of
living and nutrition, which although goes in parallel with the society’s
modernization, gives opposite effects to people’s health.

Professor Artan Goda, head of the Cardiology, says that the heart diseases affect not only people of 50 years of age, but also those in their 30s.

“Unfortunately, the heart diseases have increased for many reasons. There are some factors that have a strong affect, such as the food excess, sedimentary life and wrong vices such as smoking and alcohol. The life stress also increases with the faster rhythm of the modern times”, Goda declared.

Goda, who was present in a conference for observing Invasive Cardiology, which gives the final solutions to heart problems and blood vessels that feed the heart muscles,  underlined that first we must try to prevent the diseases, while that another solution today are the coronary interventions.

“Different to the past, today we see heart diseases in young ages. We must be prepared to face these problems. The work starts from the individuals themselves, who must take measures for a healthier life. The next step are the invasive actions, which initially sound pricey but for the health system are cheap, because they save the life of patients who might about to lose their life”, Goda says.

The Health Minister, Petrit Vasili valued the team of heart surgeons who are working at the University Hospital Center of Tirana, guaranteeing that he would bring to their disposal high-end equipments. In this meeting was broadcasted live a coronary intervention, during which the operating surgeons were able to communicate with the present observing doctors.
