Health Ministry: “More bonuses for doctors working away”

Specialist doctors that will work away from home will be paid more than
others, so that they can afford traveling to meet their relatives and
will have a one-year work contract.

The Ministry will appoint 200 doctors in total, excluding those who go to Durres and Elbasan, which are less than one hour from Tirana.

There is a lack of cardiologists, pediatric doctors, anesthetists and surgeons in many Albanian cities. Most of the hospitals simply transport their patients directly to Tirana.
