The Health Minister, Ilir Beqaj, encouraged the Prosecution structures
to continue the investigations with the medicament reimbursement fraud
case.
The Health Ministry started publishing every move made to the list of reimbursement medicaments and the names of the pharmacies that benefit, together with the total number of prescriptions that are reimbursed, the money that is paid and the total amount of medicaments that are imported by pharmaceutic companies.
Beqaj says that in a longer term, this will stop abuses. He underlines the inclusion of the electronic prescription, which goes directly from doctors to pharmacies. It will be applied first in Durres and will continue in the entire country.
“This is why we are replacing the classic prescription with the electronic one. The usage of this modern mechanism is a safe step and an effort to increase transparency and avoid abuses”, Beqaj declared.
