The resignation of the Socialist MP Andis Harasani was a surprise for
the opposition. On an interview for Top Channel, a few hours after the
SP Parliamentary Group meeting, Harasani declared that everything is
related with personal reasons.

“My reasons were what the Party leader declared and what I also confirmed on the social networks. The reasons are completely personal and there’s nothing more in it”, Harasani declared.

Top-Channel – Is there a political reason about this resignation, keeping in mind that Harasani was part of the Movement for a Different Thought inside the Socialist Party?

Andis Harasani – There is no political reason. I wish all the best to the Socialist Party. I will support it each time that it will need my contribution. I am sorry that I had to leave, because maybe I should have concluded my mandate, but I think that this is the best. I had a long conversation with the party leader and we both agreed. I have to thank him for the understanding”.

Top-Channel – The Socialist Parliamentary Group was surprised at first when the SP leader accepted the resignation. What was their reaction after?

Andis Harasani – It was a surprise, because no one knew it. I followed the official path, by notifying the party leader and all the colleagues wished me all the best. It was a good bye between friends and it is not final, because we will continue to cooperate in the future.

Top-Channel – Which are your future plans?

Andis Harasani – It is still early. I have some plans, but what’s important for the public right now, is that I will not be an MP and I thank every supporter and every critic who have helped me to work even better.

Top-Channel – Does this resignation sign the end of your political career and the start of a new career, or you are still a politician?

Andis Harasani – Politics is not made only with mandates. There are other ways, other positions. I don’t see myself only outside the politics. As I said, I had my personal reasons, and that’s why I decided to leave. I think that this is the best thing for the voters and the SP Parliamentary Group. For as long that I am not 100% dedicated, I cannot hold a position and get paid for it.
