Rachel Lindon, the lawyer of Ramush Haradinaj, says that the his release is just the first step of freedom.
Lindon said for the AFP that she is convinced that the Interpol arrest order and Serbia’s extradition requests will all be rejected.
“This is the first step. It was just a procedure. The second step will be the to cancel the illegal arrest order of the Interpol, together with the extradition request, which should be rejected”, she said.
Ramush Haradinaj was released this Thursday on probation. He needs to appear twice a week, and should not leave France.
Haradinaj was arrested the first days of this year, due to a Serbian arrest order which accuses him of war crimes allegedly committed during 1998 and 1999, in Dukagjin. Belgrade claims these accusations were not included in the Hague trials.
