“NATO’s role in Kosovo was vital for our people in a time of war. Their contribution continues to be vital even today. Our main strategic objective remains the full application of European standards in our path towards the EU integration process, and the efforts to become part of the biggest alliance of peace in the world”, said the Kosovo Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, after meeting with the NATO General Secretary in New York.
The meeting focused on the political and security situation in the country and the Balkan region, the progress reached in Kosovo, especially with the transition of the Kosovo Security Forces into a proper army that is also multi-ethnic, professional and based on NATO standards.
Prime Minister Haradinaj asked for the support of Secretary Jens Stoltenberg and of the institution he leads in Kosovo’s process for transforming the Security Forces into army, which will contribute with stable security in Balkan.
Haradinaj thanked Stoltenberg for the support he gives to KFOR and for creating a safer environment for all Kosovo citizens.
