Haradinaj against territorial exchange. Hahn: “EU will not import conflicts”

For the second consequent year, the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, invited the Prime Ministers of the region in a formal meeting in Durres, hoping to turn it into a tradition that will discuss mutual cooperation between Western Balkan countries.

However, the Prime Ministers of Serbia, Macedonia and Bosnia were absent. The first one who arrived was the Kosovo Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, and the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn.

Haradinaj said that Kosovo already has its borders with Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro and that Kosovo must respect these ones without trying to create others.

Kosovo journalists asked Hahn and Rama about the matter, but both avoided direct declarations. Hahn said that it is early to make comments about the matter, before Thaci and Vucic meet in Brussels, but he underlined that the EU will not import conflicts from Balkan, i.e they will not allow accession to countries that have open border conflicts. Rama preferred to avoid answering.
