Half of Supreme and Constitutional Judges rejected

In absence of the opposition, the Commission of Laws rejected some of
the candidates for the Supreme and Constitutional Court, proposed by the
Albanian president, with the argument that they did not fulfill the
criteria.

Two of four decrees proposed by the President were rejected. The Parliament will vote only the candidacies of Fatmir Hoxha for the Constitutional Court.

Majority deputies also reviewed three other candidacies, two of which, Shkelzen Selimi and Edmond Islami were approved, while the third candidate, Manjola Bejleri, was rejected. But the deputies of the ruling party have gone even further than rejecting her. They declared that the President must review the candidatures that do not fulfill criteria.
