The European Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, declared in Ponznan, Poland, that he stands to the recommendation for opening the EU accession negotiations for Albania and Northern Macedonia.
Hahn has opened the Berlin Process for Western Balkan with the participation of the Forum for Business and Civil Society, underlining the progress that both Balkan countries have achieved.
“I stand to the recommendation of the Commission to open the accession negotiations with Albania and Northern Macedonia. I rely on the Council that in October they will follow our positive evaluation. Both countries have realized the reforms, especially in the above-mentioned areas”, Hahn said.
Johannes Hahn said that the regional countries should follow the example of Northern Macedonia for resolving the crisis, and said that a new solution should be found for the tax that Kosovo has imposed to Serbia and Bosnia Herzegovina.
