After meeting with the President of Serbia, the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, recommended the Serbian authorities that the normalization of the relations with Kosovo is not the only matter for Serbia’s EU integration.
“It is clear that this is a current matter, but it is not the only important thing for the progress of Serbia in the EU integration path. There are other elements that are important. The rule of law is in the heart of the EU negotiations”, Hahn said.
“The rule of law is a factor which determined the speed of the EU accession process in the EU. It is also important that Serbia becomes more attractive to foreign investors. The quality of the judiciary guarantees additional trust and I think it is for the citizens’ best interest”, Hahn said.
