Serbia needs to reach an agreement for normalizing relations with Kosovo if they want to become EU members.
The EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, reiterated the message of the EU during his visit in Belgrade after the European Commission published the enlargement strategy with Western Balkan countries.
“Serbia must conclude and implement the legally binding agreements with Kosovo, before entering the EU”, was the clear message of Hahn.
The Serbian President, referring to Kosovo, but also to the border issues with Bosnia Herzegovina and Croatia, said that Serbia has a mountain of obstacles in the negotiations with EU.
“Those obstacles are like the Himalaya, but we wouldn’t be the first ones climbing the Everest”, Vucic said.
“It is time to take important decisions, pay the prices of the past, and resolve the issues of decades ago”, Vucic declared., adding that citizens should be the ones deciding for such important matters.
