The European Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, declared in an interview for Austrian media that Balkan countries will become part of the EU in 2025.
Hahn said for Kurier.at that this deadline had been decided by the chairman of the Commission.

“The head of the Commission decided 2025 as a possible deadline for some candidates. This is a realistic and ambitious time”, Hahn said.
As for the neighbouring policies, Hahn said that “we either export stability, or import stability”. We can export stability by making the countries develop economically. The rule of law definitely makes it easier for investments”, Hahn said.
