The EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn, commented the EU accession perspective of Western Balkan countries in an interview for Die Welt.
Johannes Hahn said that the European Council will recommend opening the accession negotiations for Albania and Macedonia by summer.
“The European Commission is very likely to open the accession negotiations for Albania and Macedonia this summer. We believe that both countries have made important reform and are ready for this step”, Hahn declared.
