Despite the heavy rains and the streets paralyzed by the traffic, the
Green Relay, organized by Ecovolis Program, with the participation of
the US Ambassador, Alexander Arvizu, and representatives from the Dutch,
Czech, French and Spanish embassies, was able to send the flag to the
Minister of Environment, Fatmir Mediu.
The Danish and Austrian embassies greeted this initiative at the Skenderbej square, where it was passed by 30 representatives and activists to the Ministry of Environment, together with the message that is necessary to have a constant support to our environment.
Ambassador Arvizu greeted the race by underlining the importance of such initiatives, and thanked the diplomatic bodies for being involved in this activity.
Mediu declared that he hopes to hand the Green Relay over to the new consensual president, after a few days.
The event was also greeted by Ambassador Sequi, who is an active and faithful cyclist and Ecovolis supporter.
