The court of the Serres city in Greece has started a marathon hearing
session with eight of the 15 prison guards accused of killing the
Albanian prisoner, Kudret Kume, who is also known as Ilia Kareli. Kareli killed
a Greek prison guard after he was not allowed to meet his mother, and
then was tortured to death as retaliation.

Top Channel’s correspondent in Greece, Aleksander Marku, declared that the session was held under harsh security measures due to the sensitivity of the case.

Police forces have isolated the Court while the session was held behind closed doors.

Top Channel has learned that the investigative group will publish the arrest measure for the defendants by the end of the day. The other seven guards will testify on Friday.

The prison director will face charges for concealing a crime, while what is certain is that all guards will lose their jobs.

Top Channel has learned the names of the 15 defendants and that of the prison director, but they will be made public only after the charges will be announced.
