The United for Human Rights Party has filed a request for the
interpellation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, as regards the demolition of
the Shen Thanasi church in Dhermi.

The request was filed by the UHRP leader, Vangjel Dule.

The church was demolished on August 26th so that it can be rebuilt as it was before it was demolished by the communist regime.

The existing church was built on the foundations of the original one and had no construction permit.

The UHRP considered this a vandal act and there have been reactions even from Greece, which caused a counter-reaction from the Albanian Foreign Ministry, which considered the Greek declaration as intervention in internal affairs.
