The Greek military portal, Militaire.gr, apologized to the Albanian
Defense Minister about a news published by them which resulted to be a
slander.
The portal said the Albanian Defense Minister had worked as a night club dancer in Athens, early 90s.
Paris Karvunopulos, Chief Editor of the portal, apologized and said it was an unconfirmed report that served for vile attacks against the Defense Minister.
“Further investigations showed that the news was not true. Kodheli had not even been in Greece during that period of time”, Karvunopulos said.
He also added that the news that the Minister was a fan of Nazism was also untrue, damaging the institutional and personal image of the Minister.
“We promise to verify every news referring to Mrs.Kodheli in the future. We admit that the news published by us was a political comment which was abused by certain political class members and public opinion members in Greece and Albania”, the portal says.
The Greek portal apologized after the Ministry sued them, but this is the first time there is an apology for unfounded accusations against Albanian politicians, who often become target of slander by some members of the Greek press.
