Work started normally at the Kapshtica border checkpoint, after a
72-hour interruption due to the Greek strike. The Albanian side is
working with three tolls, the Greek one with two.

Customs employees went on a 24-hour strike which was followed by another 48-hours one. The Deputy Chairman of the Greek Customs Union, Athanasios Kretsis, confirmed on a phone interview with Top Channel that the Greek Customs have escalated their protests against the government’s draft law for creating an Independent Authority for the General Secretariat of Public Revenues, which will involve Customs too.

The strike blocked many Albanians citizens who communicate with Greece through four border checkpoints.
