Greek border, 150,000 persons passed through

From the day of visa liberalization and until today, more than 150,000
Albanian citizens have passed through the Kakavija border,
using their biometric passports.

Border authorities noted that there have been no violations by the Albanian citizens. They have respected the 3 months deadline for staying in the Schengen area, and all EU criteria have been fulfilled.

The citizens that are being refused by border police are mostly people declared as unwanted in Schengen zone.

Gjirokaster Police Spokesperson declared that the despite the normal circulation of the citizens in the Schengen zone, border police is monitoring the entire green border between both countries for avoiding any illegal pass of these unwanted people.

During this time, the Police have stopped about 60 people who have tried to illegally pass the border.
