Greek and Italian airplanes will patrol over Montenegro, newest NATO member

From June 5th, Montenegro’s skies will be patrolled by airplanes of their NATO allies, Italy and Greece.
The small Adriatic country that joined NATO last year has no military airplanes of its own, and that’s why Montenegro asked NATO’s assistance in securing its airspace.
Such missions are not unusual, as its part of the NATO policies. Montenegro contributes by sending military troops in training missions in Afghanistan and by offering financial support to the Afghan Security Forces.
Italian and Greek airplanes will keep their bases in their own countries, and will fly over Montenegro anytime it is necessary.
