The Thessalonica Police arrested seven Greek citizens, members
of a criminal network that was about to launch 1 million
USD of counterfeit money in Greece and Balkan.

The Police eliminated the group that operated in a rented house in Northern Greece, where they were keeping the machinery that produced the counterfeit banknotes.

Police arrested two of the falsifiers during a currency exchange, and arrested three other people, even a 32-year-old girl.

The Police seized 675.000 USD in 100 dollar banknotes, 15.000 others that were about to be printed and 8000 others that were being tested in 500 EUR banknotes.

According to the police, this is one of the most important cases of falsified currency in the recent years, since the falsification was top quality and undetectable by most of the scanners.

The police is still investigating, since part of this money might have been launched in the rest of Balkan countries.
