Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met with the Serbian President, Alexandar Vucic, in Thessaloniki.

Besides reconfirming their cooperation, both leaders also sent messages to Macedonia and Turkey.

Tsipras said that Athens want stability in Balkan, but it should go through fighting nationalism within the FYROM.

Vucic reminded how Greece didn’t recognize the independence of Kosovo, and how Belgrade has not shown enough gratitude for this. He criticized his predecessors for this and declared that Serbia supports Greece for Macedonia’s name issue.

Greece, the third foreign investor in Serbia, has signed four cooperation agreements with Serbia in energy, transportation and tourism.

Tsipras mentioned the decision to rebuild the railway between Pire, Thessaloniki and Belgrade, and for promoting energy lines and cooperation for the pipelines TAP, IGB and IBS which will go through their country.

Tsipras answered to the declarations released  today by the Turkish Foreign Minister, Cavusoglu, who warned that Ankara will take measures against Cyprus and their searches for natural gas. He also said that Greece has not been sincere with their negotiations for a reunion of Cyprus.

“I always  refer to a proverb in foreign policy. A good dog is not the one who barks, but the one who guards well. We don’t bark a lot, but we are determined to defend our sovereignty”, Tzipras added.
