Governor, Meta: Presentation of candidate is important

The Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, stood to the declaration of one day
ago as regards the appointing of the new governor of the Bank of
Albania.
The Parliament Speaker answered to the journalists by saying that with his decree, President Bujar Nishani has done his Constitutional duty and now it is up to the Parliament for doing his job by taking a decision.
“The Parliament will respect the Constitution and the law for the Governor. The President implemented the Constitution, and now it is the Parliament’s turn”, Meta declared.
But will Nishani reject or approve the candidacy decreed by President Nishani?
“The presentation of the candidate will be an important moment. It is still early to say that the governor will be chosen by the Supervisory Council”, the Parliament Speaker declared.
