After harsh Parliamentary debates over the new law which gives the
government the right to seize citizens’ real estate over unpaid energy
bills, the Socialist Party proposed to remove it for family consumers.
“The Parliament proposed to remove the law for family consumers”, declared Eduard Shalsi, Chairman of the Commission of Productive Activities.
The new law was effective for those who owed more than 300.000 ALL, while for businesses, over 2 million ALL.
Another discussion point was the high price that citizens must pay with fix priced fees. The Chairman of this commission said that the end of this year will be the end of this payment method, after all consumers will receive meters.
“The Government and the Regulation Entity must supervise the process of giving meters to any citizen. No one should be charged with fixed price payments in 2016”, Shalsi declared.
