“Government must apologize to the military”

The former Chief of the General Staff declared that the passing of this building to the Democratic Party as an official headquarter is nothing more than a mistake.

“This action needs to be corrected and return this building to the army, and apologize to the military men”, says Major General Kostaq Karoli.

What’s the value of this building for the Military?

“The military had a similar building, a Military Home, in every other district of Albania, and this is the lat one remaining. People might think that this is just a place to have a coffee, but this is a cultural center, where the Armed Forces hold meetings and activities, promote the values of the Armed Forces and other cultural activities. This is a rushed decision. You cannot remove it from the army and make it a headquarter for a political party? This is a mistake that gives a strong blow to the army”, Karoli declared.

The Socialist Party opposed this decision of the government that is on its last days on power, after losing the June 23rd elections. The Socialists declared that after coming to power in September, they will cancel every decision that the new majority considers a damage to the public interest.
