Government-IMF: “Albania reached its objectives”

The Minister of Finances, of Economy and the Bank of Albania Governor
held a joint press release after meeting with the IMF mission in our
country. They were all optimistic about the economic growth.

“Investors trust the Albanian economy. The economy and the budget are positive. The reforms will give their positive effects. The Budget 2016 agreed with the IMF does not raise taxes in the key sectors of the economy, but reduces them. By the end of the year, all obligations will be liquidated. We have made it possible for the banking system to credit more businesses in 2016”, Cani said.

The Bank Governor underlined that the last developments in Greece did not hurt Albania’s economic health, but investors still hesitate because of uncertainty.

“The reforms taken in coordination with the IMF have made it clear about the next steps”, according to Sejko.

The Minister of Economy said there will be more investments: “Paying the debts left to us by an irresponsible government is a success of these reform. The government has collected and saved from this, so now there will be more investments”.

For the IMF supporters in our country, the economic program of Albania goes according to the plan.

”The objectives have been reached. Albania will consolidate the reforms. The GDP is still increasing. The economy in Albania will be supported by Foreign Investments”, the IMF supporters declared.
