One day after Prime Minister Edi Rama announced the names of the new
government cabinet, same as four years ago, their first unofficial
meeting will be held in Vlore.

The meeting, which will last two days, was called by PM Rama, who has invited all Ministers and also the Parliament Speaker Gramoz Ruci, and Taulant Balla, proposed as Head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group.

Top Channel has learned that in this meeting there will be discussions about the new government scheme and functionality of newly created ministries.

But when will the new government start working? Based on the Constitution, the President gathers the newly elected Parliament not before than the date when the previous parliament term comes to an end, and not later than 10 days after the mandate is over.

The first session will be between September 9th and 19th, but if the President doesn’t call the meeting, the Parliament can gather on the last day of the deadline, on September 19th.

The party that has won the majority makes an official address to the President, with their candidate for Prime Minister.

After this, the President mandates the Prime Minister to create the new government, which must be decreed by the President before, and then voted in Parliament. Before the Ministers officially start their duty, they take an oath in front of the President.
