Government approves draft law on digitization of public procurement via ‘Artificial Intelligence’

The Albanian government has approved a draft law for the digitization of public procurement in Albania as Minister of Infrastructure Belinda Balluku, said that this draft law aims to improve the regulatory framework, thus addressing all the problems that have arisen during the screening process in Brussels.

“I will mention some of the innovations that this draft law brings, which aims to digitize the entire procurement process in the Republic of Albania, taking into account that the Albanian government has already digitized most of the services that we offer from administration institutions.

“The automatic evaluation of the fulfillment of the criteria for the qualification of bidders and the development of the purchase and electronic auction system will be carried out using advanced digital technologies, but also with artificial intelligence, which we have started to implement for some time in all bidding structures. of services”, said Balluku.

With the automation of the procedure, according to the deputy prime minister, human influence decreases and transparency increases.

“On the other hand, carrying out some public procurement processes in this way reduces as much as possible the impact of the human factor in procurement processes, automating this process, to create greater transparency and full access to to all interested entities”.
