The government admitted for the first time that one of the most important reforms that they have carried out has resulted problematic: farmers are not paying insurance, due to the increased level of contribution.
The contribution for rural farming employees is 6200 ALL a year in total, but farmers pay only 2900-3800 ALL, and the rest is subsidized by the government. However, despite the subsidy, most of the farmers are not getting insurance.
“To be more transparent with the commission, I need two months time, in order to advance with legal amends”, said the Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj.
The Minister of Finances added that the government is discussing to variants: “One of the methods is to reduce the minimal salary for farmers, which is the base of the contribution”, the Minister declared.
