Golemi’s sister: “Her guilt? She doesn’t have money and high-level support”

“Her only guilt is that she has no money and no strong support”, says
Valjeta Golemi, sister of the former Prosecutor General at the Bank of
Albania, the only one who remained in prison from six people who
appealed their security measure, including Fullani.

Her sister is convinced that Elivar has not committed any crime, and demands that justice should be equal for everyone. She released this declaration in Shkoder, where a group of women who have worked with Golemi held a peaceful protest in her support.

“The law should be implemented equally for everyone”, say the protesters, including Valjeta Golemi, who says that her sister should be tried in house arrest, as a decent person and not as a criminal.

“This is not right. I was at the Court of Appeal that day. It was the first time she had the right to speak. When the Judge asked her about the audits, she explained that they were held and registered at the Supervisory Council and at the Commission of Economy, but the Prosecutor declared that he knew nothing about them”, she said.

By comparing it with Fullani’s house arrest, Valjeta said that her sister’s only guilt was that she had no strong support and large amounts of money.

“How can they make an accusation when they don’t know that the documents exist? I want human rights for my sister. If the Albanian laws have different security measures, she could be tried with a lighter measure. She cannot be held so that she will not damage the documents, because they are submitted at the respective institutions and she cannot damage them. Her only guilt was that she had no strong support. I am not against the liberation of Fullani, but justice should act even for my sister. Justice should be equal for everyone”, she added.
