15 years from the murder of the former leader of the Chamber of
Advocacy, prof.Kleanthi Koci, the community of lawyers is honoring him
with the “Golden Robe” post mortem, which was handed over to his two
daughters.
It is unforgivable for the Association of Lawyers that on the 100th anniversary of Albanian justice they honored dozens of figures, but forgot prof.Koci.
Saimir Vishaj, Head of the Association of Criminal Lawyers: “It is an irony of the fate when the President refuses to honor such an important figure, but he honors his students. Since we are lawyers and divided by politics, we cannot stay with our mouth shut. We should do what politics is not doing, not only to honor Kleanthi Koci, but also to give his name what he deserves.
Arben Isaraj, Deputy Minister of Justice: He always gave the impression that he could leave politics outside justice. He created what we all know. If we want justice, we must leave the justice institutions only to the law.
“The Golden Robe” was given to Brahim Lahi, too, a well-known name for the judiciary.
The “Golden Robe” was given this year for the first time and is expected to turn into an annual tradition.
