There were protests today in Greece, in front of the Albanian Embassy in Athens.
The Himara Organization held a meeting, which was attended by MPs of the Golden Dawn and the Greek conservatory party, New Democracy.
Protesters held Greek flags and sang patriotic songs, polyphonic ones, but in Greek.
They appealed the Greek government to react for Himara, where, according to them, the rights of the Greek minority are being violated.
The Albanian government has started an urban requalification plan for Himara, same as in other towns.
For the plan to continue, several buildings need to be demolished and their owners to be expropriated.
Legal owners have been compensated, as confirmed by the Greek Foreign Minister. Buildings which have been constructed illegally cannot be compensated, a fact that the Greek MFA admitted as well.
