Gjunkshi: Military Home belongs to Army

15/08/2013 00:00

The government efforts for passing the Military Home building to the
Democratic Party have intensified, but these efforts have found the
opponence of the Chief of Staff, General Gjunkshi.

Meanwhile, the correspondence between the Interior Minister and Gjeneral Gjunkshi has been made only in the last two days, which shows the rush for concluding this issue.

Sources from the Interior Ministry secured an exclusive copy of this correspondence, which brings to light a new fact.

The document sent by Gjunkshi says “The Ministry of Defense, through the protocol document No.7374 dated 13 August 2013, requests that the property n4.32 named ‘Military Home’ at the Zhan Dark boulevard in Tirana, should change administration”.

The third paragraph discovers another detail, quoting document 7375/2 dated 13 August 2013, sent to the Ministry of Defense by the Center of Culture, Media and Defense Publishing (CCMDP), saying: “This building will not be used by them very soon, because a special new building will be built for these activities. This building has been built for completing the mission of CCMDP.

On August 14h, the Military Home has answered to this document: “The organisation plan has foreseen that its activity, due to the negative balance for reducing the activities, will move the activity to the Military Hotel, in order to increase the efficiency of its activity and cutting costs”.

The General asked the official opinion of General Gjunkshi for the above mentioned, since without his signature the procedure cannot be approved.

On the same day, on 14th August 2013, general Gjunkshi answers to the General Secretary of the Defense Minister and gives his evaluation regarding this property of the army… an evaluation that rejects the request of Imami and Ndoka.
