The fire has also seriously endangered some houses in the Mashkullore village, where police intervened and with the help of one fire engine and dozens of residents, they were able to save the houses. The fire has also burned many fruit trees, such as pear trees, apple trees, prune and cherries, all owned by Mashkullore residents.

Despite the intervention of the police, the firefighters and the residents, the flames have still continued to burn vegetation in the “Mali i Gjere” area.

11 people have been arrested during this period, and 19 others are under investigation. Gjirokaster Police notifies the residents to be cautious and not light up fires for regenerating pastures, since it is a criminal act and they will respond in trial.
