The work of the Commission for the Electoral reform has started, but the
lack of any signal so far for changing the electoral system has put in
motion some of the small parties in coalition with the Socialists.
“The Social Democratic Party has supported the unification of the left parties for a better coordination of the opposition and for institutionalizing these unions. We have maintained contacts and we have cooperated for a better collaboration”, declared Skender Gjinushi, head of the SDP.
Petro Koci from the PSV 91 says:
“This is a project for unifying the organizing action, especially the electoral one, not only for our three parties, PSV 91, PSD and PDS, but also any other party, so that the coalition can be more effective.”
The head of the Social Democracy Party, Paskal Milo, declared that the only idea that has started to be discussed, is how to maximalize the votes in the next elections.
After a tour in Southern Albania, Paskal Milo warned that they would abandon the coalition with the Socialist Party if the electoral reform will not include a national correction.
“If the electoral code will not change, we will build a joint electoral formation, without the Socialist Party. If the national correction will be applied, and if there will be guarantee for the vote counting process, we will have a joint coalition with the SP”, Milo declared.
While Koci and Gjinushi declared that the unification of the small parties will be made in coalition with the SP.
