The Minister of Eergy, Damian Gjiknuri, reacted after the report made
against him by the Supreme State Audit. Gjiknuri considered this an
attack of the opposition that has no legal foundations.
“We heard the report of the Supreme State Audit, as warned long ago by the former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha. On September 10t, 2015, he attacked the agreement that was reached with CEZ Distribution and said that it would not stop there. That he would wait for a state institution that was investigating it. Today it was confirmed with the declaration of the SSA Director appointed by Berisha, who is returning his favors”, Gjiknuri declared.
He underlined that the entire report had no mentioning of any law against the negotiating group that was led by three ministers.
“This is not a report of the SSA, but of the Democratic Party”, Gjiknuri declared, giving explanations how the declaration corresponds with the accusations of the DP.
“The claim for the 95 million EUR payment we agreed on is not founded, because the value is an obligation to the Czech company”, Gjiknuri said.
As for the 352 million EUR damage to the KESH and OST, both energy companies for the distribution and transmission, Gjiknuri said that the Audit refers to financial data which show that the total obligation of CEZ is 29 billion ALL. If you duduct 10 billion of obligations that the Berisha government institutions owed to CEZ, the entire amount goes to 130 million EUR, according to Gjiknuri.
He said that the Audit hides data about 500 million EUR that go in favor of the Albanian side.
“As for the 32 million EUR claim, CEZ had a negative commercial value, based on the conditions of the agreement, and their shares had passed to the Albanian government for free. By not recognizing the 102 million EUR privatization and the 24 billion ALL value of this company’s assets”, Gjiknuri said.
He added that there is no legal or financial analyze to show the causes of this conflict.
