The Mayor of Vlore, Shpetim Gjika, greeted the police operation that concluded with the arrest of the explosives gang in Vlore.
“Every Vlore citizen greets and encourages this recent success of the Socialist majority, and each of us understands that these are the last moments of a monstrous crime that was terrorizing Vlore,” Gjika declared.
Gjika also replied to the Vlore Prefect, Besnik Dervishi, regarding his insinuations for the explosive that was found in Dervishi’s vehicle.
“Yes, I’m addressing this to the Vlore Prefect. To be clear, I’m not addressing this to Besnik Dervishi as a person, to whom I offer my solidarity for what happened to him. I have had similar problems from people who attack from their hiding places. I am addressing to the Prefect as an institution. A few days ago he launched very dangerous, dark and serious accusations. He said that this is about a ‘dangerous clan that all Vlore citizens know’, insinuating that it is his opponent clan and claiming that it is led by me. I guarantee that the only clan to which I belong is the Vlore citizens, the people who work with their minds and hearts for the city of Vlore and for Albania. As far as I know, you’re part of the same clan, as every other Vlore citizen. We don’t have any relation with the mafia clans and cold-blooded killer gangs”, Gjika declared.
Several media insinuated that the Prefect’s declaration was directed to the Mayor of Vlore, after authorities found an explosive under his car.
