On the international day of the Magna Carta, professors, scholars and
other members of the civilian society, members of the “We, Tirana”
group, discussed on the situation of freedom and authoritarian behavior
in our country.
The independent Mayor candidate for Tirana, Gjergj Bojaxhi, declared that the political change against injustices comes through votes and elites. He said that if people don’t break the impartial situation of today, then everyone should be held responsible.
“How can this people accept this arbitrary situation, when they often unite to celebrate a football match victory against some neighbor country, but it is difficult for them to get revolted by the videos showing corruption and its impunity? Were the protests against the chemical waste materials enough to hope there will be a higher political responsibility? Maybe, but we have seen how parties accused of corruption keep winning Parliament Members”, Bojaxhi declared.
He underlined that the impartial situation caused by today’s politicians can be defeated only through a small minority that has the will to attract the support of the most responsible part of the society, and then take the rest, which, according to him, is tired of the long transition.
“There is no reason or justification to avoid this responsibility. We have all the moral obligation, as citizens to lead the society to refuse the injustices of an irresponsible politics. We have our fates in our hands today”, Bojaxhi declared.
