On October 1st, Top Channel predicted that the dropped revenues during
the transition period could be caused by criminal acts in the tax
administration.
Two weeks later, the suspicions have been officially confirmed by the Minister of Finances, Shkelqim Cani.
During a meeting at the Commission of Economy, Cani declared that a fraudulent scheme has been identified, which has been carried out through fictive bills for the VAT recompensation of ghost companies from China, with a damage mounting up to dozens of millions of EUR.
