Germany has strongly supported the dialogue between Prishtina and
Belgrade and they confirm that Serbia will have no other conditions for
EU accession.

This was the declaration made from Belgrade from the Chief of Department for Southeastern Europe at the German Foreign Minister, Nikolas Lambsdorf.

“Germany supports the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and hopes to reach the results that would contribute in a long-term cooperation”, declared Lambsdorf regarding the talks.

As for Serbia’s EU integration, he said that there will be no new conditions. Serbia, same as all other countries that aspire EU accession have some conditions to fulfill, and there’s nothing new here.

The German official released this declaration after meeting the second person in charge at the Serbian government, Alexander Vucic, who confirmed that Serbia wants to continue the EU path.

Vucic also promised that the new Serbian government will respect the agreements reached so far with Prishtina. On the other hand he added that Berlin must pressure the Kosovo government for this.

“Serbia will respect all Brussels’ agreements, but we are waiting for support from Berlin so that the future talks will not be made only from Belgrade, but also from Prishtina”, Vucic declared for the Serbian media.

According to this, the high rank Serbian official declared that he is aware that Serbia will be obliged to take difficult decisions for the EU integration road.
