“Deutsche Bank” has no activity in Albania, but this doesn’t mean that
one of the biggest banks in the world is not interested to help Albania.
On the contrary.
After two weeks, the Deutsche Bank organized in their main headquarters the Albania-Germany Economic Forum, with the presence of more German businessmen who will have a presentation of the investment possibilities in Albania.
Since Germany has been the biggest donor for Albania in the past 20 years, and since the German investments are the mostly desired, the Albanian government has given a special importance to the Economic Forum of Berlin, where Tirana will be represented by Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister of Economy, Arben Ahmetaj.
It is early to say when this forum will give its effects, but it is important that Berlin has decided to play an active role in Western Balkan.
This determination will be shown by Angela Merkel by the end of August, in Berlin. Merkel will host a regional summit in which will be invited the Prime Ministers of Western Balkan countries.
From the Albanian point of view, this is one of the most positive events, since Tirana will intensify its relations with Berlin. Two months ago, the Albanian Prime Minister and the German Chancellor reestablished cooperation bridges, and Germany reconfirmed its interest to support Albania.
The Berlin regional summit of the Western Balkan countries means that this part of Europe is on the right track to reinforce the relations with Germany, a valuable ally in this time of growing euro-skepticism in France and the UK.
