German Ambassador: “NATO declaration should be taken in consideration for Kosovo army”

The German Ambassador to Prishtina, Angelika Viets, said that the
relations between Kosovo and Serbia are extremely important. Despite
provocations, she said, the creation of the Association of Serbian
Communes is now a priority for normalizing the dialogue with Serbia.
“Citizens must know the benefits coming from the normalization process”, says Viets for RTK.
She says that the debate for the border demarkation with Montenegro has been politicized, and that the agreement has been carefully reviewed after three years of work.
“The agreement is also international, which reinforces Kosovo’s sovereignty. This would remove the main obstacle for the visa liberalization”, the German Ambassador declared.
Viets also spoke about the request of President Thaci to transform the Kosovo Security Forces into an army. She said that as a sovereign state, it is up to Kosovo to decide about the structural mandate of KSF. But every modification must be done in accordance with the Constitution and political transparency.
