German ambassador appeals youth to not leave the country

The German Ambassador to Tirana, Helmut Hoffman, appealed the Albanian
youth that Germany welcomes only qualified workers but does not
recognize economic asylum.

“We will open the job market in a more attentive way for those coming from Western Balkan, but everyone who has gone to Germany will be returned. The employment will be given only when someone has gone to Germany independently, looks for a job, sign an agreement with the businesses, return to Albania and demand a work permit at our embassy here. This is the only way”, Hoffman declared.

Hoffman suggested the Albanian youth to focus on the professional education, since it has more guarantees for jobs.

“Albanians focus on academic education. In Germany there is a positive need for professional education. I see that Albania has good possibilities to develop professional education”, he added.

The appeal of the German ambassador was addressed to the Albanian students for the study “Albanian Yoouth 2015”, realized by the foundation Friedrich Elbert.

As for the study results, 59.8% of the Albanian youth want to emigrate.
