The burning of urban waste in the coastal city of Vlora has become a constant concern for citizens.
At noon today, the fire was rekindled again, releasing heavy smoke and filling almost the entire tourist town. “We feel at risk for our health as this situation happens every time”, the citizens say.
The director of civil emergencies near the municipality of Vlora, Adrian Vreshtazi, clarified that there are four fire engines on the ground, as well as those of the municipality of Vlora to control the flamës, which endangered 4 nearby houses.
This situation, which burdens the health of citizens, also has a negative impact on the tourist season. The residents of Vlora see as the only hope for the situation, putting the landfill of Sherishta into operation.
