The Albanian Police has intensified its efforts to end the gambling
epidemics in the entire territory, which have turned not only into a
fiscal and a criminal crime, but also a huge wound for the society.
Rama considered it as a criminal industry that flourished thanks to the political support and under the nose of the police, saying that the government is determined to go to the end of this battle and stop tax evasion, ordinary crimes and degradation of the society due to this massive phenomenon.
“We are not only determined, but also very clear about the extent and connection of this activity with politics, the support it has found and the coverage secured thanks to the political corruption”, Rama declared.
Together with the starting of a legal reform for this sector, the Prime Minister announced a new initiative of the government for blocking the access of internet bets.
“We have decided that through the Minister of Innovation we will try to block all betting websites. The Albanian people lose 500-700 million USD each year to foreign donations”, Rama declared.
The Prime Minister explained what will happen with those who respected the law in this business.
“We are working for an exit strategy for everyone who have been licensed and who respect all the laws. An exit strategy means that this cannot be even legally an activity of the future of our country. Our future cannot have anything in common with gambling”, Rama declared.
The Head of the Albanian government declared that this is not just a season of action, but what has started will go until the end.
